I learned the importance of health insurance at a very early age.
I grew up riding bicycles and jumping over homemade ramps. I was glad my father had a good job with the phone company that provided excellent health insurance. More than once I ended up in the emergency room. I wasn’t an Evil Knievel, even though I thought I was.
My father was a good provider and was a firm believer in loyalty to your employer. His example of hard work to get what you wanted is an important part of my life. He was the person everyone came to when they needed something fixed. He taught me how things worked and how to figure out what was wrong if they didn’t. Those teachings helped me decide to study industrial engineering in college.

COLORADO HEALTH COST-SHARING INFORMATION
I didn’t start my career in the health care industry, but it led me to where I am now.
I worked in manufacturing during the heyday of American Manufacturing Supremacy. I worked my way up in the corporate world from Junior Engineer in my first job to Manufacturing Manager for two different Fortune 200 companies. During these years, I had lots of outside interests to keep me occupied, including 3 motorcycles, 2 sports cars, and 4 children. The pictures below were taken at a half-day driving school at VIR Raceway in Danville, VA. It was lots of fun, but not soon after, I realized I was not insured if something had happened, and that was a problem.
HSAs and health share plans are great options.
Once I left the manufacturing world, I realized rising health insurance cost was a problem for many people, and true to my engineering background, I started looking for solutions.
During this time, I came across the concept of HSA insurance plans. While in manufacturing, I had company- furnished plans that allowed me to put money aside, tax-free, for medical costs each year. I had to use it for medical expenses during the year I contributed it or lose it at the end of the year.
Individual HSA plans offered a better solution, put the money aside and if it wasn’t needed for health cost in the year you saved it, it just carries over in your account. In addition, the money was tax-deductible on the front page of the Tax Return, and premiums were lower than many other insurance plans. In addition, it also offered the opportunity to earn interest. Having experienced the cost associated with accidents my children had growing up, I am also a firm believer in an accident plan to cover the higher deductible associated with HSA plans.
More recently, I’ve been recommending health care sharing plans to more and more people. Across the board, so many people are frustrated with the high costs of insurance and the endless hoops the insurance company makes them jump through. Health care sharing programs aren’t insurance, so they aren’t regulated the same way, and that’s the beauty of these plans.
Medical cost-sharing plans tend to be more affordable, with costs typically half that of traditional insurance. More than a million people have already switched over to a health share plan, including dozens of my clients.
I genuinely like what I do–I get to help others.
With health care costs continuing to rise and the industry becoming more and more convoluted, it is more important than ever to have a trusted agent to help you with the decisions facing you.
For countless years, I’ve helped clients navigate the exchanges and pick out a plan that perfectly suits their needs. Whether you’re in the market for an insurance plan or a health care sharing plan, I will do everything I can to make sure you get the coverage you need–and at an affordable price. I make it my business to stay up-to-date and knowledgeable in all that is the health coverage industry as it changes and evolves, so you’ll always be in expert hands.
I talk to many people who just needed advice from someone who knows how to untangle the mess and make things clear. I learned long ago to treat people as I want to be treated, and that’s something I live by.
Colohealth offers me the opportunity to work with people, educate them on things they may not understand, and help them make the proper choice to fit their needs and budget. That is a win-win for everyone.
