Save More With a Premium1 Healthshare Plan That Also Allows You To Have an HSA

The HSA Premium1 plan offers a better way to take control of your healthcare and your finances.

This plan combines medical cost sharing with an HSA-qualified Minimum Essential Coverage (MEC) plan that meets federal requirements for preventive care.

The cost savings of health sharing combined with the tax-saving benefits of a health savings account (HSA) have made this unique solution the most popular plan we offer.

This is not health insurance. It is a smarter alternative designed for independent professionals, entrepreneurs, and health-conscious families.

What makes Premium1 different is the combination of reliable health sharing, tax-advantaged savings, and provider choice.

Members can choose their own doctors and pay lower monthly contributions compared to traditional insurance.

There are no restrictive networks and no surprise denials.

The plan also includes virtual care, mental health support, and access to over a thousand low-cost medications.

Share Medical Costs

This plan uses a cost-sharing model, not insurance.

Members contribute monthly, and the funds help share costs for large, eligible medical bills.

Once your selected Initial Unshareable Amount is paid, the rest is submitted for sharing.

Virtual Health When You Need It

Around-the-clock virtual care is available for primary concerns, urgent health needs, and mental health.

Even pet care is included. It’s quick, convenient, and easy to use.

Support That Makes It Easy

Your membership includes personal help from your own concierge team.

They assist with appointments, provider questions, and plan navigation.

HSA Eligible

With this plan, you are eligible to establish a health savings account.

This is a special tax-favored bank account that allows you to put aside pre-tax money to cover future medical expenses.

Not only do you get immediate tax benefits from putting money in your HSA, that money also grows tax-deferred, and can be used any time to pay medical expenses, tax-free.

In 2025 you can contribute up to $4300 for an individual, and up to $8550 for a family.

Mental Health Care with No Session Limits

Therapy is available for both short-term needs and long-term conditions.

You can continue care as often as needed, with no yearly cap.

Psychiatry sessions are also offered at a flat rate for more serious conditions.

Preventive Care

You’ll get access to essential services like annual checkups, screenings, and vaccinations.

These are covered at no cost when you see an in-network provider.

The membership meets ACA requirements and keeps you eligible for HSA contributions.

Exclusive Discounts

The RX Valet program gives you access to many common prescriptions for $0 or less than $15.

This includes over 1,000 medications and diabetic supplies. No insurance card is needed.

You’ll also get 30% off vitamins and $25 off DNA testing.

How the HSA Premium1 Plan Works

Everyone in the plan puts in a set amount each month.

That money forms a pool used to help share costs for larger medical bills across the group.

If you need medical care, you pay out of pocket first up to a certain limit.

That’s your Initial Unshareable Amount, or IUA.

You pick the amount you’re willing to take on – there are different options, like $1,000, $2,500, or $5,000.

Once you’ve met that number, the rest of your eligible medical bills can be submitted for sharing.

You just upload the details through the member portal or the app.

After that, the community takes care of the rest.

Here’s a sample of how the costs might play out:

Service Cost
ER visit with X-ray $2,500
Surgery $20,000
Follow-up care $400
Physical therapy $1,500
Total $24,400
Member’s IUA $1,000
Shared by members $23,400

In this example, the member paid the first $1,000. The rest (over $23,000) was paid through the sharing process.

HSA Premium1: Pros and Cons

Every healthcare option has its strengths and tradeoffs. Here’s what to consider if you’re thinking about Premium1.

Pros

  • HSA-Compatible: This plan meets the requirements for Health Savings Account use. That gives you the chance to lower your taxes and grow savings for future care.
  • Lower Monthly Costs: Premium1 typically costs far less than a traditional insurance plan. There’s no insurer taking a cut, and no inflated admin fees.
  • Full Provider Freedom: There’s no network you have to follow. You can see any licensed provider, anywhere in the country. That kind of flexibility is rare in most health plans.
  • Preventive Care Included: The MEC plan covers checkups, screenings, and immunizations at no extra cost when done in-network. These are designed to catch health issues early.
  • Behavioral Health Access: You can book counseling sessions when needed, no visit limits. Psychiatry is also available for a flat fee per appointment.
  • No Lifetime Sharing Limit: Eligible expenses are shared with no annual or lifetime cap. That includes major surgeries, hospital stays, and emergency needs once your IUA is met.

Cons

  • Pre-Existing Conditions May Have Waiting Periods: Sharing for pre-existing conditions is limited in the first few years. Some conditions are eligible sooner, but others may take longer to qualify for full sharing.
  • No Insurance Network Pricing: Since this is not insurance, there’s no built-in “negotiated rate.” You’ll be billed as a cash-pay patient. Often, this still results in savings, but it’s something to consider.
  • Limited Eligibility: This plan is not open to everyone. It’s designed for self-employed individuals, small business owners, and independent earners.

HSA Funds Have Rules: You can only use your HSA dollars for qualified medical expenses if you want to avoid taxes and penalties. It’s a great tool, but one that requires discipline.

Frequently Asked Questions About Premium1

FAQ Icon

Q: Is the HSA Premium1 plan insurance?

A: No. HSA Premium1 is not health insurance. It’s a membership that combines health cost sharing with preventive coverage that meets ACA guidelines. Many members find it works better than traditional insurance, especially when cost and provider freedom are a priority.

FAQ Icon

Q: How are pre-existing conditions handled with Premium1?

A: There’s a waiting period for sharing costs related to pre-existing conditions. In the first year, those expenses are not eligible. After that, sharing is allowed in stages: $25,000 in year two, $50,000 in year three, and up to $125,000 per year from year four onward.

FAQ Icon

Q: What do I pay at the doctor’s office?

A:  If it’s a preventive visit, it should be covered by the MEC plan when done in-network. For all other services, you will be charged as a cash-pay patient. You’re responsible for your Initial Unshareable Amount, and then you can submit the bill for sharing.

FAQ Icon

Q: What if I need mental health care?

A: You can access virtual mental health care at any time. There’s no limit on basic therapy sessions. More complex care, including psychiatry and Ph.D.-level counseling, is available for a flat fee.
